The Joomla Project is the community of people who build, translate, document and support the Joomla content management system.
Its mission is to provide a flexible platform for digital publishing and collaboration, guided by a shared set of values:

The work is done by volunteers organised into teams covering development, security, documentation, translation, events and community support. The non-profit organisation behind the project is Open Source Matters, Inc., which handles its legal, financial and organisational affairs. Joomla is free and open source software, released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later.
